The OpenSEA Alliance was formed in 2007 by leading networking and security technology companies, such as Symantec Corporation, TippingPoint, and Trapeze Networks, in conjunction with JANET(UK) (formerly the United Kingdom Education and Research Networking Association).  The OpenSEA Alliance was founded to promote the development, promotion, and distribution of an open source 802.1X supplicant.
